Rush Creek Yacht Club has called Lake Ray Hubbard home since 1969 — 57 years of racing, community, and the best sunset in Texas.

57 Years on Lake Ray Hubbard
Rush Creek Yacht Club was founded in 1969 by a group of dedicated sailors who saw the potential of Lake Ray Hubbard as a world-class sailing venue. What began as a small club has grown into one of the most respected inland sailing clubs in the country — home to seven competitive racing fleets, a nationally recognized youth program, and a community that gathers year-round on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard.
Club Timeline
Rush Creek Yacht Club founded on Lake Ray Hubbard by a small group of Dallas-area sailors.
The club establishes its first organized racing fleets and begins hosting open regattas, becoming a fixture in Texas competitive sailing.
Membership grows significantly. The clubhouse expands and the dock infrastructure is built to support a growing fleet of wet-slip boats.
The youth sailing program is formalized, developing what would become one of the strongest junior programs in the Southwest.
RCYC hosts national championship events including Flying Scot and IC-24 championships, drawing sailors from across the country.
The Doolin Education Center opens, expanding youth sailing capacity. The Race Team begins competing nationally, reaching North American and international competitions.
Major clubhouse renovations including the 4,500-square-foot lakeside deck. The youth program expands to seven sessions of summer camp and year-round programming for ages 5 to 18.
Over 250 member families, seven active racing fleets, and one of the most accomplished inland sailing clubs in the United States.
